I have a fantastic conversation about how to thrive during this time and connect with your identity. Unfortunately, identity is something we’ve all lost a little… or maybe even a lot… losing our identity and connection to that which makes us… well US… can cause a lot of problems. It’s a tough time and our desire is to help you to reconnect with your identity, so you can thrive right NOW!

Joining me on this episode is Nick Armstrong, organizer of Fort Collins Comic Con and Fort Collins Startup Week, as well as the owner of WTF Marketing. Nick is a prolific and renaissance geek. Meaning, he’s a geek at heart and yet has many interests and talents.

I asked Nick what he thought people needed right now. He told me 3 things that really sparked my interest and I found to be very true. These 3 things are:

  1. Connect with your identity (as we’ve all lost some or much of it with this current situation)
  2. Mental health, or grief, help. We’re all dealing with a level of grief in some way right now.
  3. Curation of great content. There is a LOT going out right now. Everyone is now creating something and putting up for our consumption. How do we know what’s good as well as what’s good for us specifically? We need curation.

Nick and I are going to talk about these things on today’s episode!

210: TRB UNLEASHED: A Wake Up Call With Blue Phoenix 0

It’s official!! The time has finally arrived! The interviews are BACK! We’re here to help you become the superhero you are meant to be and reclaim your life and your passions and not apologize for it.

Joining me today is Blue Phoenix (Spencer), who is actually an old friend of mine. He has an incredibly powerful and, yet, difficult story to share with us today. He’s been through a lot in his life, and yet his attitude and response to these challenges is an amazing inspiration on how he’s overcome and unleashed his superhero.

Spencer had an arrest of his heart years ago that caused him to, essentially, die for 11 minutes. Thankfully, he was brought back to life and to recovery. Unfortunately, the down time caused his kidneys to eventually fail, leading to the need for kidney dialysis and the search for a kidney donor. It took both of these events to create a wake up call for Spencer.

Spencer's attitude and response to these things is an amazing example of someone who has and continually unleashes his superhero on a daily basis. It's an inspiring and empowering episode to help each of us to look for the good and the positive in our lives, regardless of our circumstances.
